V28-99 : MEMBER TRAINING

The Chairman, under the statutory provision accorded to him, accepted a late item on training requirements. The Head of Personnel had attended the meeting not only in a capacity delegated by Corporate Management Team to oversee how the new meetings were developing, but also to assess and develop members training needs and programme.

The Head of Personnel added that list would be enlarged and developed as other meetings were held. Members may then wish to attend other courses suggested by other groups also.

RESOLVED

That the following training needs be developed for the Scrutiny Panel members: Best Value; Dealing with awkward customers; Understanding procedures; Questioning techniques; and How the Council works.

The meeting was concluded at 9.25pm.
