V28-84 : REVIEW OF MISCELLANEOUS ALLOWANCES AND PAYMENTS

The report of the Director of Central Services proposed increases to various allowances paid under the Council's Local Conditions of Service, in the order of 2.5% in line with the assumption made in the Council's 1999/2000 Budget.

RESOLVED

1. That the following revised allowances paid under the Council's Local Conditions of Service, be introduced with effect from 1 July 2000:

(a) Travelling Allowances

Essential User Moped Allowance
(a) Annual Lump Sum £182.00 £187.00
(b) Mileage - Per Mile 7.1p 7.3p
Casual User Moped Allowance - per mile 7.7p 7.9p
Motor Cycle Allowance - per mile 12.8p 13.1p
Cycle Allowance - per mile 11.5p 11.8p
(b) Retirement Presentations
Value of gift per year of service: £9.10 £9.33p
(c) Safety Clothing
Men's Safety Shoes £23.00 £23.55
Women's Safety Shoes £34.25 £35.10
Waterproof Jackets £17.10 £17.55
2. That the Head of Service responsible for the function be given delegated authority to revise the allowances paid under the Council's Local Conditions of Service from 1 July each year in line with the provision made for inflation as used in producing the current year budget.
