V28-651 : EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY IN EMPLOYMENT WORKFORCE MONITORING
The report of the Corporate Director (Corporate Resources and Policy) looked at the current composition of the Council's workforce, summarising a recent survey. The Head of Personnel informed members that the report now covered the whole workforce, and drew attention to the section that dealt with potential areas for improvement. There was currently little meaningful comparative data available, but all regional Local Government employers had recently agreed a range of 20 performance indicators, some of which dealt with equal opportunities issues. Any appropriate data obtained would be included in the recruitment monitoring report which would be made to the Panel in March 2001.
The Vice-Chairman asked if the Single Status consultations were completed. The Head of Personnel advised that meetings with the Unions were ongoing, and a progress report would be considered by Senior Management Team on 13 November 2000.
RESOLVED
That the report on Equality of Opportunity in Employment be received and a recruitment monitoring report be made to the Panel in March 2001.
