V28-632 : WHERRY LINES COMMUNITY RAIL PARTNERSHIP

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) outlined progress to- date and future plans for the Community Rail Partnership for the railway lines linking Norwich with Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.

It was proposed to increase in the Council's contribution for 2001/02 from £3,000 to £3,500, in line with the direct contributions from Anglia Railways and Railtrack. It was also hoped that Norfolk County Council would continue to be a major contributor.

RESOLVED

1. That the good progress made to date in developing the Community Rail Partnership be noted.

2. That the Council continue to support the Community Rail Partnership and that the sum of £3,500 be allocated for 2001/2002.
