V28-619 : BECCLES ROAD, LOWESTOFT - PROPOSED FOOTWAY

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) proposed the construction of a footway between Burnt Hill Way and Clarkes Lane, utilising funds within the Local Action Plan for Lowestoft.

The proposal was to provide a path behind the trees near Burnt Hill Way on to the verge outside the Warren School. Suffolk County Council were prepared to dedicate the land that would be covered by the footway as highway. However, the proposal would necessitate the removal of a large tree, and officers were asked to investigate the possibility of modifying the scheme to allow the tree to remain.

RESOLVED

That consideration of the construction of a footway between Burnt Hill Way and Clarkes Lane, Lowestoft, be deferred for further investigations to assess the possibility of the existing tree remaining.
