V28-600 : WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VICTORIA ROAD AND HEATH ROAD, LOWESTOFT

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) set out proposals to overcome members' concerns expressed at the last meeting that the proposed waiting restrictions on the above roads would adversely affect some properties at the western end of Victoria Road. At this location there was no off-street parking and residents parked on the street as there was limited opportunity to park elsewhere.

Following observations, it was considered that the proposed waiting restrictions could be amended to retain on-street parking at weekends outside Nos 54-74 Victoria Road, when heavy goods vehicles flows were significantly reduced and there were not enough spaces on adjacent streets to accommodate displaced parking.

RESOLVED

1. That the necessary traffic regulation orders to amend waiting restrictions in Victoria Road and Heath Road, Lowestoft, be advertised as in drawing 185099 Rev A, and that a further report be brought back to The Executive if any objections are received.

2. That negotiations take place with local shopkeepers to offer cycle parking and dropped kerbing to facilitate customer parking.
