V28-586 : PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS FOR CYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN LINKS BETWEEN
LOWESTOFT AND CORTON
The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) set out proposals for improving pedestrian and cycle links between Corton and Lowestoft, following wide ranging consultation.
RESOLVED
1. That a footway and advisory cycle lanes be provided along Corton Long Lane between Old Lane and Station Road, the footway being on the north side opposite the houses. 2. That the possible extension of the footway between Old Lane and Yarmouth Road be considered subject to funding.
3. That the existing railway bridge remain for now.
4. That an order be made regarding the footpath between Old Lane and Gunton Avenue to create a cycle track under the Cycle Tracks Act 1984.
5. That discussions take place with the Highways Agency to provide improved pedestrian and cyclist crossing facilities on the A12 including determining a new location for the bus stop to Great Yarmouth, and to extend the cycle route from Tesco roundabout to Gunton Avenue.
