V28-564 : BANKING CONTRACT
The report of the Corporate Director (Corporate Resources and Policy) sought authorisation to negotiate a possible extension to the current banking contract with Barclays Bank, which was due to terminate on 31 December 2001.
An extension of 12 to 24 months would allow other impacts of reorganisation within the Council to settle down and allow a strategic review of our overall banking arrangements to be undertaken prior to developing a specification for a full tendering exercise. The Panel would be advised of the outcomes of discussions at the next meeting. Members wished to authorise negotiation of a 12 month extension only.
RESOLVED
That the Head of Financial Services be authorised to examine with Barclays Bank the possibility of a 12 month extension to the Council's banking contract, and report to the next meeting of the Panel the outcome of those discussions.
The meeting was concluded at 9.20pm.
