V28-558 : MINUTES

The minutes of the last meeting held on 17 October 2000 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman, subject to the amendment of comment (c) under "Steering the Council Through Organisational and Budgetary Review" to read "There should be a separate Standards Committee to be included in the Policy Portfolio groupings", the amendment of comment (d) to read "the Travellers Site should be included in the portfolio groupings rather than become the responsibility of Suffolk County Council", and the addition of the following comment:

(f) In applying the principle of "the devolution of decision-making to the appropriate lowest level", care should be taken to ensure staff are able to carry out the duties required of them and do not find themselves in disciplinary situations by taking on more than they can manage.
