V28-534 : LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE, CHANGES TO LICENSING LAWS

AND THE IMPLICATIONS FOR LOCAL AUTHORITIES

The report of the Chief Executive reminded members that the Licensing Reform White Paper proposed that Local Authorities would assume responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the new licensing regime, with significant implications across service areas.

A Conference was to be held in London on 21 November 2000, and it was felt beneficial that the Chairman and the Electoral Registration Assistant attend.

RESOLVED

That the Chairman be appointed to attend the Conference on Changes to Licensing Laws, in London on 21 November 2000.
