Application for replacement uPVC bay window.

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) set out an application relating to a three storey building which had been converted into flats. There was a turret feature on the building, and it was proposed to replace the second floor bay window within the turret. The ground and first floor bay windows had already been replaced with uPVC, and it was proposed to match the style of those windows using uPVC.

Under the agreed trial system to rationalise the standards by which applications were considered for replacement windows in conservation areas, the application scored four points. It was therefore considered that replacement uPVC windows should be permitted provided that the style of the windows did not change and that the profiles of the windows matched those in the bay windows of the turret already in place. The Director recommended approval subject to these details being agreed before installation.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17729, subject to agreement of final design details before installation.
