Application for single storey rear extension.

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) reminded members that a site visit had recently taken place at the above location. The proposal was for a sizeable rear extension to a detached bungalow set within a generously sized plot. The key issue concerning the application was the effect of such a large extension on the neighbouring house. This amended scheme moved the extension a further 1.5 metres from the neighbouring boundary, but this only partially overcame officers' objections. The Director recommended refusal.

Following the site meeting, however, members felt that the impact on the neighbour would not be so severe as to warrant refusal. They were minded to approve the application.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17685.
