V28-509 : W875/9 AND /10 - FORMER SURGERY, MARKET PLACE, HALESWORTH

Application for demolition of existing surgery and construction of three cottages with associated landscaping, and conservation area consent for demolition of existing surgery building.

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) advised that the above application was a resubmission following refusal of an application for two three- bedroom dwellings at minute V28-291. That minute had also recommended that further discussions take place on an alternative scheme to be brought back to the Panel, and the present proposal was for three one-bedroom units.

The scheme remained very much the same, and reflected local design features. The Town Council would prefer two two-bedroom properties, but the Director recommended approval of the revised scheme.

RESOLVED

That planning permission and conservation area consent be granted to applications W875/9 and W875/10 respectively.
