Application for erection of three bungalows and a shop unit with flat above, and conservation area consent for demolition of outbuildings.

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) reminded members that the above application had been approved at the last meeting of the Panel, following a site visit, subject to, amongst other matters, satisfactory reorganisation of the Council car park, if necessary by means of a Section 106 Agreement. The present report suggested changes to the layout, which the Director considered to represent improvements, with the exception of the decorative screen wall which could lead to difficulties in this heavily used part of the public car park.

The entrance would be retained in bay 3, with a direct line of sight through to Blyburgate which would encourage pedestrian movement through the shopping courtyard. The Director recommended approval of suggestions (i) - (v) outlined in the report, and approval of pedestrian access to the car park but without the screen wall.

RESOLVED

1. That the revisions to the previously approved applications W12719/10 and W12719/11 described at (i) - (v) in the report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) be approved.

2. That the pedestrian access to the car park be approved, but omitting the screen wall.
