V28-453 : MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE

The minutes of the meetings of The Executive held on 6 and 27 July 2000 were brought to the Panel for members to have the opportunity to pick up on any matters they wished to enquire into, or wanted further expansion on.

Regarding minute V28/80, Beccles Residents' Parking Scheme, the Chairman was aware that a response was awaited to a complaint to the Ombudsman that the scheme was unfair to some residents. The Chief Executive confirmed that a report was going to the meeting of The Executive on 21 September 2000, and was satisfied that procedurally the objection had been handled correctly. The Chairman felt that the resident had the right to express dissatisfaction with the scheme, and asked that the documentation relevant to the making of the order be made available to the next meeting of the Panel.

Regarding item 8, of 27 July 2000, Highway Maintenance Works 2000/01, the Panel asked that a copy of the Highway Maintenance Programme be sent to all members of the Council, so they would be able to know what works would be occurring in their ward.

Regarding item 15, of 27 July 2000, Change Evaluation Team (CET), the Panel noted that their initial report had been due to be presented to the Panel at the meeting. The Chief Executive confirmed that the report was not yet finalised.

RESOLVED

1. That the documentation relevant to the making of the Beccles Residents' Parking Order be made available to the next meeting of the Scrutiny Panel.

2. That a copy of the Highway Maintenance Programme 2000/01 be issued to all members of the Council.
