V28-436 : WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VICTORIA ROAD AND HEATH ROAD, LOWESTOFT

The report of the Corporate Director (Regeneration and Environment) outlined proposed changes to waiting restrictions on Victoria Road and Heath Road due to changing employment patterns in the area and to improve the traffic flow on the A146 primary route.

Members had some reservations in respect of the imposition of no waiting restrictions in front of a section of properties in Victoria Road which had no rear access and no alternative parking. It was suggested that further consultation be undertaken in this respect prior to advertising an Order, and a report brought back to members.

RESOLVED

1. That further investigations and consultation into displaced parking in Victoria Road, Lowestoft, as a result of a proposed traffic regulation orders to amend waiting restrictions, be undertaken, and a report presented to a future meeting of The Executive.

2. That negotiations take place with local shopkeepers to offer cycle parking and dropped kerbing to facilitate customer parking.
