V28-433 : EVENTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 2001-2005

The report of the Corporate Director (Community Services) considered a proposal for a four year major events programme, and set out the impact and benefits of the project. RESOLVED

1. That plans for the "East Coast Festivals" Project to provide a four year events programme along the east coast be agreed in principle, and that a bid for Objective 2 funding be approved.

2. That a further report be submitted detailing additional financial requirements for the Events Development Programme 2001-2005 when the outcome of the Objective 2 bid is known.

3. That the engagement of a professional fund raising company to obtain sponsorship for the proposed event programme be supported in principle, subject to the drafting of a detailed specification and an appropriate competitive method of appointment being adopted.
