V28-432 : FUTURE OF NORTH DENES CARAVAN AND CAMPING SITE

The report of the Corporate Director (Community Services) was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as the future of the North Denes Caravan and Camping Site, which was assured only until 14 October 2000, needed to be determined before the next meeting of The Executive.

It was likely to be several years before any development commenced on the North Denes area, and several more years before the development impacted directly on the Caravan site. Due to the present policy of one year extensions and the uncertain future of the site there had been a decline in use and subsequent income. It was proposed to address this issue by extending the future of the site for a five year period, and producing a marketing plan for 2001.

RESOLVED

That the future of North Denes Caravan and Camping Site be improved by extended site leases to 12 October 2005.
