V28-410 : "THE PIT", LOVE ROAD, LOWESTOFT.

The report of the Corporate Director (Community Services) outlined a proposal to rejuvenate the play area known as "The Pit" at Love Road, Lowestoft, as part of a joint venture which also involved the County Council, Police and the community.

A proportion of the funds required would be provided by the Council, and Suffolk Education Department, but the balance would be obtained by applying for various grants. In order to be successful in obtaining these grants the Roman Hill Tenants and Residents Association were required to own the land. This could be achieved by the Council transferring the land to the Association, and an appropriate provision would be made to ensure the land transferred back to the Council in the event that the Association was wound up.

RESOLVED

That the area of land known as "The Pit", Love Road, Lowestoft be transferred to the Roman Hill Tenants and Residents Association on terms to be agreed
