V28-384 : LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION 2001

The report of the Chief Executive sought authority to send representatives to the Local Government Association's Annual Conference and Exhibition which was being held at the Harrogate International Centre from 4 to 6 July 2001.

The Conference would focus on the importance of local democracy, with the aim of reasserting the vital role played by Councillors in working with local communities and securing the delivery of local public services.

RESOLVED

1. That the Chief Executive, the Leader of the Council and three Councillors attend the Local Government Association Annual Conference and Exhibition at Harrogate International Centre on 4 to 6 July 2001.

2. That the three Group Leaders inform the Chief Executive of their respective member nomination.
