V28-382 : VERY SHELTERED HOUSING
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services set out a proposal for a partnership approach to provide two Very Sheltered Housing Schemes, one in Lowestoft, and one in Reydon.
Concern was expressed that there had been insufficient consultation with the local community and the residents of St Margarets Court in respect of the Reydon proposal, and that there appeared to be no eligibility criteria for the Council to determine who would be accommodated within the scheme. It was agreed that a meeting should be held with officers of both this Council and the County Council, and the Chairmen of The Executive and Community Services Policy Panel. It was further agreed that this was a matter that should be determined by the Council at its next meeting.
RESOLVED
1. That support be given in principle to partnership working between Waveney District Council, Suffolk County, Orwell Housing Association, and the Housing Corporation, to enable the provision of Very Sheltered Housing Schemes in Lowestoft and Reydon. 2. That final determination of this matter be referred to Council following further consultations and a meeting between officers of the Council, Suffolk County Council, and the Chairmen of The Executive and Community Services Policy Panel.
