V28-370 : SOUTHWOLD HARBOUR NORTH WALL AND ASSOCIATED PROJECTS
The report of Director of Community Services updated members on the findings of an Officer Project Team established to investigate solutions and funding opportunities to address the stability of the concrete north wall of Southwold Harbour, which had been at risk of collapse for several years.
The Team had confirmed that there were no cost-effective short term alleviation works, but there were opportunities for Objective 2 funding if the full repairs were linked with a number of other potential tourism and environmental initiatives as a package of Southwold projects. In order to develop scheme options a staff cost budget of £15,000 would be required.
RESOLVED
That a budget of £15,000 be allocated from the 2000/01 capital programme to support the work of the Officer Project Team in progression of funding opportunities, developing project scope and initial consultation process, for schemes at Southwold.
