V28-368 : ENGAGEMENT OF CONSULTANTS

The report of the Head of Building Control proposed the engagement of a consulting engineer to check the Council's methodology and to assist with a risk assessment on the structural design of the Anglian Treatment Works at Corton, to safeguard the Council's position.

It was proposed to engage Fordham-Johns Partnership at the same hourly rate presently paid to them by the Council for design work in for Community Services. The cost of this arrangement was not expected to exceed £1,000 and could be met from within existing budgets.

RESOLVED

That Fordham-Johns Partnership be engaged to check the methodology of the Council's structural check of the Anglian Treatment Water Works at Corton, and be involved in carrying out a risk assessment on the structural design of the building.

(The Chairman declared an interest in the above item and left the room during the debate, and the Vice-Chairman took the Chair).
