V28-363 : NON-DOMESTIC RATES - RURAL RATE RELIEF

The report of the Corporate Director (Corporate Resources and Policy) considered new policy guidance, following receipt of three applications for Rural Rate Relief. (Para. 7)

RESOLVED

1. That consideration of the policy for Rural Rate Relief for public houses be deferred for further information.

2. That the policy for Rural Rate Relief be amended to allow post offices and general stores with a rateable value between £6,000 and £12,000 which meet the criteria for mandatory rate relief to be granted discretionary relief of 50%.

3. That discretionary rural rate relief be granted to the post office at Wangford subject to the adoption of the policy revision referred to in recommendation 2. above.
