V28-33 : MEMBER TRAINING
The Chairman, under the statutory provision accorded to him, accepted a late item on training requirements.
The Head of Planning reported that he had been requested by Management Team to discuss with the Panel any training requirements they felt they may need. This discussion resulted in the following topic areas being identified: budget setting; policy matters (including regeneration, countryside, transport, design, economic development); personal skills training; legal matters; tourism; economic planning from a local authority perspective and Council-wide concerns such as Best Value.
The above training, although targeted at members of this Panel, would be made available to all members of the Council. The delivery method of the training, as well as its content, would be decided by members.
RESOLVED
That a member training programme be arranged based on the areas identified at the meeting, and where considered appropriate by the Chief Executive.
