V28-280 : W16753/1 - 108 WANGFORD ROAD, REYDON
Application for rear extensions.
The report of the Head of Planning reminded members that a site meeting had recently taken place at the above location. The Parish Council recommended refusal of the application, and the neighbour objected on grounds of increased loss of light from the kitchen/dining room window. Previous approval for the existing conservatory had been conditional on glass replacing part of the solid wall on the southern boundary. The proposal was to erect a two storey and single storey rear extension replacing the single storey extension, but with traditional pitched, tiled roofs. The main issue was impact on neighbouring properties. The occupiers to the north had not objected and were separated from the site by a driveway. The occupants of 106 Wangford Road had kitchen and dining room windows on the north side which were in line with the original flank wall of the application property. The bulk of the extension could, however, be reduced by hipping the roof instead of the proposed gable, with the result not being so demonstratively harmful to warrant refusal. The Head of Planning recommended approval subject to a hipped roof onto both extensions.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W16753/1, subject to hipped roofs to both extensions.
