V28-257 : MILL FARM STABLES, STONE STREET, ILKETSHALL ST LAWRENCE
UNAUTHORISED SITING OF MOBILE HOME
The report of the Head of Planning advised that temporary permission was granted in June 1998 for two years for the siting of a residential mobile home at the above site, and no application to renew had been submitted. Temporary permission was originally granted because the site was being used as a horse rescue centre.
The condition of the site had deteriorated greatly since the permission was granted, and the fence required to screen the site was inadequate. The site was on a busy stretch of the A144, and the Highway Authority stated at the time of the original application that permanent permission or increase in traffic movements would raise a highway objection. Neighbours objected to the condition of the site and levels of disruption they had endured over the past two years, with stock cars being kept on the site, and queried that the site was being used for rescue purposes. The Head of Planning felt there was no further need for a mobile home on the site and recommended that enforcement action be taken to ensure its removal, with three months being given for compliance.
RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to issue an Enforcement Notice and to take all pursuant action to secure the removal of the unauthorised mobile home at Pennyfields Horse Sanctuary, Mill Farm Stables, Stone Street, Ilketshall St Lawrence, with a period of three months being given for compliance.
The meeting was concluded at 10.55pm.
