V28-256 : 296 YARMOUTH ROAD, LOWESTOFT

The report of the Head of Planning advised that a planning contravention notice was served on the owner of the above property in August 1999 to ascertain the business activities from the site. At this time the owner was storing double glazed window units and conservatories for his business use, operating from the garage of his property.

A planning application had not been forthcoming despite being requested, and the business activities were continuing to the detriment of highway safety. The Head of Planning recommended that enforcement action be taken to cease these operations, with the owner being given three months to find alternative storage facilities.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to issue an Enforcement Notice and to take all pursuant action to ensure the cessation of the unauthorised business activity at 296 Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft, with a period of three months being given for compliance.
