Application for first floor rear extension.

The report of the Head of Planning set out a proposal to erect a first floor extension above the existing ground floor extensions at the rear of the above detached dwelling. This would result in the first floor extension being wider than the original house, but to minimise the impact on neighbours the new roof line was hipped at both ends. There would be a distance of one metre to the boundary.

Discussions had taken place with the applicant to reduce the extension, however they wished the application to be determined as submitted. Although there would be some impact on the neighbour, who objected, it was considered that the impact in this instance was not sufficient to warrant refusal, and the Head of Planning recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17613.
