V28-244 : W17622 - LAND SOUTH OF "COPPERFIELDS", SIDINGS ROAD, BARNBY
Application for construction of a dwelling with double garage.
The report of the Head of Planning concerned a site on the west of Sidings Road on the north eastern outskirts of the village of Barnby and outside the defined village development area. There was sporadic development around Swan Green and along Sidings Road. The plot was an area of low lying grass meadowland between a pair of long established semi- detached cottages to the south and a large modern bungalow to the north, having a frontage of approximately 25 metres and depth of 45 metres.
The Parish Council recommended refusal as outside of the building line for the village, and there were two letters from neighbours concerned with building on a grazed water meadow, setting a precedent and drainage problems.
Under Local Plan policy V3 only limited infilling of already substantially built up street frontages would be permitted in Barnby. The Head of Planning felt the plot was not a single plot width in an otherwise developed boundary and recommended refusal
RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W17622.
