V28-233 : W14783/4 - STANTONS BOARDING KENNELS, POLLS LANE, RINGSFIELD
Application to permit use as boarding kennels - removal of Condition No 2 of W1473/2. The report of the Head of Planning advised that the above site included purpose built kennels capable of accommodating up to 20 dogs, situated on a relatively self contained site at the bottom of the large garden attached to "Stantons". The site had its own access from Polls Lane. Planning permission had been granted for these kennels in May 1990 for a three year period personal to the then applicants. The permission was made permanent in 1993 when there were no objections, personal to the applicants.
The site had changed hands and the new owners were anxious to put the kennel building to some use. There was unlikely to be more than 10 dogs accommodated at the site at any one time unless more than one dog came from the same home and could be accommodated together in a double kennel. The building had operated successfully as kennels for almost ten years without obvious impact on the residential amenity of surrounding properties, and in acknowledgement of the request expressed locally about having the opportunity to re- assess the operation of the site under its new ownership, the Head of Planning recommended temporary approval for one year subject to vehicular access being from Polls Lane.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W14783/4, temporary for one year, subject to vehicular access to the site being achieved only from Polls Lane.
