V28-218 : LAND AT NEWSON'S BOATYARD, SEA LAKE ROAD, OULTON BROAD, LOWESTOFT
UNAUTHORISED USE OF BOAT
The report of the Head of Planning outlined a report from the owner of Newson's Boatyard that the owner of one of the boats located on a hardstanding area was now permanently living on his boat. This had been confirmed to be the case, and the permanent use of this boat for residential use was unacceptable.
The boatyard owner had unsuccessfully tried to vacate the boat and owner from his land, but to date no evidence of moving on had occurred. The Head of Planning therefore requested that the Chief Executive be authorised to take enforcement action to ensure the cessation of the situation, with a compliance period of three months to enable the owner of the boat time to find alternative accommodation.
RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to issue an Enforcement Notice and to take all pursuant action to ensure the cessation of the unauthorised residential use of a boat on land at Newson's Yard, Sea Lake Road, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, such enforcement action to be complied with within three months.
