Application for provision of play area and multi-games area.

The report of the Head of Planning set out a proposal to upgrade the level of play equipment at the above large area of public open space. As well as implementing a programme of planted landscaping the proposal consisted of two play areas.

A letter of objection had been received concerning the proximity of play equipment to residential areas and possible damage to private property. However, both of these areas were located some distance from the surrounding residential properties, and were unlikely to contribute to vandalism or other social problems. The proposals represented a reasonable upgrading of what was an existing play area, and the Head of Planning recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That for the purposes of paragraph 4(5) of the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1976 deemed planning permission be granted to application W17597.
