V28-212 : A/W883 - LAND AT TRIANGLE MARKET/HIGH STREET, LOWESTOFT
Application for provision of non-illuminated advertising display units. The report of the Head of Planning concerned a proposal for the erection of the above display units, two of which had already been erected and were situated at the junction of the High Street and Artillery Way and adjacent to the Council's car park fronting the High Street on the corner of Compass Street. It was also proposed to erect a three sided panel around a new seat within the Triangle area.
One objection had been received expressing concern about the display board adjacent to Artillery Way obscuring visibility and that the glass/plastic sheet would reflect sun and dazzle drivers. In design terms these panels were considered appropriate features within the Conservation Area and would help provide important information for the High Street users as a whole. The Council's Highway Section raised no objections regarding highway safety and visibility, and the Head of Planning recommended approval.
RESOLVED
That for the purposes of paragraph 4(5) of the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1976 deemed planning permission be granted to application A/W883.
