Application for first floor and ground floor rear extension.

The report of the Head of Planning concerned the above semi-detached dwelling with an existing ground floor extension measuring approximately 4.5 metres deep. It was proposed to erect a first floor extension to the same depth and to infill the extension at ground floor to the boundary.

The design of the extension was acceptable, but the first floor extension, by reason of its depth, would have some impact to the light of the neighbouring property which would not be acceptable in this instance. A reduced first floor extension would be acceptable, but the Head of Planning recommended refusal as submitted.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W17603, but that the Head of Planning be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to a smaller design.
