Application for use of land for base for courier business and residential - Renewal of Consent W12864/3.

The report of the Head of Planning reminded members that temporary planning consent for the above use was granted by the Development Control Committee for a one year period in May 1999. This allowed an opportunity for the use to be monitored and any adverse effects to be recorded.

Officers were not aware of any major impacts generated by the business in the past 12 months except for the current objection submitted by the immediate neighbour. The applicant, who was now applying for full unlimited consent, had stated within his application that only one vehicle per day would come or go from the premises. Hours of operation would vary but would be between 7am and 10pm.

The Parish Council raised concerns that the conditions of the temporary permission had not been met, and alleged that five to seven vehicles were kept here, and that loading at the roadside continued because the car parking area was always full. However, in the absence of reports of adverse impacts and the proposed use for the premises of just one vehicle, the use in planning terms was considered acceptable and the Head of Planning recommended approval, limited to one vehicle only, weekdays 7am - 10pm.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W12864/5, for one vehicle only, on weekdays from 7am - 10pm.
