V28-178 : PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, LAND AT HIGH STREET, KESSINGLAND
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
The report of the Head of Planning enclosed a report which had been considered by the Housing Sub-Committee on 25 April 2000, when the Sub-Committee had recognised that there was a case to be made to help facilitate the construction of the Southern Relief Road in Lowestoft. They were also of the opinion that there was a need for affordable housing in Kessingland as an alternative to on-site provision. It was therefore agreed that a commuted sum should be paid on the basis that it was utilised to provide either affordable housing on a suitable alternative site within the village of Kessingland or, in the event that this did not materialise, on a suitable site alongside the Southern Relief Road.
Members were requested to support the Housing Sub-Committee's resolution. RESOLVED
That the submission of a commuted sum be accepted in lieu of on-site affordable housing for the proposed residential development at Land at High Street, Kessingland, subject to the sum being used solely for the provision of such housing in Kessingland, the amount to be agreed by the Director of Housing and Environmental Services. The meeting was concluded at 10.10 pm.
