V28-174 : THE CARLTON PUBLIC HOUSE, 562 LONDON ROAD SOUTH, LOWESTOFT
The report of the Head of Planning advised that the owner of the above premises had erected an illuminated projecting sign on the front elevation facing onto London Road South. The owner had been informed of the need for consent, but no application had been forthcoming. The sign presented an intrusive feature on a prominent frontage and was out of character with other more traditional signs on the property. The Head of Planning therefore recommended prosecution under the Advertisement Regulations to ensure cessation of the background lighting.
RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to take prosecution action in relation to the unauthorised illumination of a sign at the Carlton Public House, London Road South, Lowestoft.
