Application for single storey front extension.

The report of the Head of Planning advised that an objection had been received to the above proposed extension from the adjoining property on the grounds that their kitchen window would be only two feet from the end wall of the extension, which would measure approximately 2.5 metres high at this point and 1.8 metres wide. It would therefore restrict light to the kitchen.

None of the properties in the above development had been extended at the front, and it was considered that the proposed extension would represent a dominant and bulky feature in the general street scene. In addition, there was substance to the neighbour's objection and loss of morning and early afternoon light to their kitchen was likely to occur. The Head of Planning recommended refusal.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W17547.
