Application for two storey side extension.

The report of the Head of Planning outlined an application for a large two storey side extension to the above semi-detached dwelling which would double the size of the original dwelling. There would be no direct impact to adjacent residential properties, but the proposal involved elongation of an unsightly roof dormer to the front and rear. This design was not acceptable, and the extension would give the impression of a terrace of three houses rather than looking like an extension.

The Head of Planning had negotiated a reduction in ridge height and width of the extension which would involve a break in the dormer, and he now recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W1875/4.
