Outline application to construct a bungalow.

The report of the Head of Planning advised that an application for the area of land above was refused in 1979 due to loss of amenity and privacy to existing properties, and the Highway Authority not allowing any form of vehicular access off Walpole Road.

Following later approval of a similar plot nearby the Highway Authority had now withdrawn their objection. The access to the approved plot had not caused any difficulties, and the proposed bungalow would have room for a turning space. The existing property would be left with sufficient land and screening. Two objections had been received, but with a single storey dwelling and boundary treatment there should be no privacy problems.

Detailed plans would be required before coming to a final decision on the application, but given the Highway Authority's acceptance based on precedent, the Head of Planning recommended that outline approval be given.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W9123/1.
