V28-140 : ORGANISATIONAL REVIEW

The report of the Chief Executive outlined proposals for the implementation of the next phase of the restructuring of the Council following reports to and consideration by The Executive.

A view was expressed that the concept of a civic office was resurrected, and this received the general support of members.

RESOLVED

1. That the next phase of the restructuring of the Council be implemented by the appointment of ten corporate managers as set out in the report of the Chief Executive, and that this be reviewed in twelve months time.

2. That a report be presented to The Executive on 27 July 2000 setting out the necessary transitional management arrangements for the interim period leading to the appointment of Corporate Managers.

3. That for a period of up to six months from the date of this meeting responsibility for the proper administration of the Council's financial affairs under Section 151 of the Local Government Act 1972 be given to the holder of Post FA001 - Head of Financial Services.

4. That the Chief Executive, Mairi McLean, be designated Monitoring Officer in accordance with Section 5 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
