V28-103 : CHOICE OF TOPICS FOR REVIEW
The report of the Chief Executive brought together ideas previously brainstormed by members as possible criteria for selecting topics for review by the Panel. The brainstorming had suggested a points system for prioritising, and the Chief Executive suggested that a score of one to five be used against each of a list of criteria, with higher scores showing greater significance to the Council, and therefore higher priority to review. The total score would be used to evaluate and select a short list of topics for review. The criteria were: Significance for Corporate Strategy; Significance in Budget; Significance for a service outcome; Affected by recent policy or a legal change; Importance to Area Panels or other strong local significance; Importance to outside organisations; Poor statistical comparison with other Councils' performance indicators; and Capability for improvement. RESOLVED
That the criteria and scoring system for selecting review topics be adopted, and continue to be monitored for review and improvement.
