V27-986 : SHAPING THE FUTURE - CONTRIBUTION TO TOURISM MARKETING PROJECTS

The report of the Director of Community Services reminded members that the Council was a member of the Norfolk and Waveney Tourism Management Partnership, which was part of the Shaping the Future Initiative.

The Marketing Group of the Initiative had requested contributions from the Council over three years, and this contribution would enable Waveney to promote itself in the Awareness Campaign and Short Breaks Guide which were both targeted at important market segments for Waveney's tourism industry. Members were happy to approve the contribution for 1999/2000, but did not wish to commit forward budgets to the Initiative.

RESOLVED

That a contribution to the Marketing Group of the Shaping the Future Initiative of £945 in 1999/2000 be approved.
