V27-984 : SWIMMING POOLS AND SPORTS AND LEISURE CENTRE - SENIOR CITIZEN SWIMMI
The report of the Director of Community Services, of which a revised version was circulated, reminded members that, after paying a 20 pence admission fee, senior citizens were able to swim free at certain times during the week. The report set out a table of savings which could be made if these free sessions were replaced with a reduced price session, and members were minded to introduce a charge of 60 pence, including centre admission, for senior citizen swimming, bringing a budget saving of £9,375.
RESOLVED
That the free swimming sessions for senior citizens be replaced by a reduced price session, and a charge of 60 pence, including admission fee, per person per session be introduced with effect from 1 April 2000.
