V27-960 : ADOPTION OF ROADS, SOUTH LOWESTOFT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
The report of the Director of Community Services reminded members that following completion of various works to comply with highways standards it was proposed that the County Council adopt the various roads on the South Lowestoft Industrial Estate and assume responsibility for ongoing maintenance. Following consultation with Anglian Water works were also required to the foul and surface water drainage systems. A rolling programme had been included as part of the Other Services Capital Programme and £150,000 has been set aside for this financial year. As the drains, when refurbished, would become the responsibility of Anglian Water it was recommended that part of allocation be redirected to offset this cost. Invitations to tender had been sought within a budget of £100,000. The remaining £50,000 would be directed to works to the road fabric. RESOLVED
1. That part of the Phase 2 current budget of £150,000 for upgrading roads for adoption be utilised to bring the standard of the drainage systems in Pinbush Road, Harvest Drive, Pinbush Close, Cooke Road, Cooke Close and Barley Way to the adoptable levels required by Anglian Water.
2. That the remainder of the budget be directed to bringing the road fabric in Cooke Road, Cooke Close and Barley Way up to adoptable standards required by Suffolk County Council.
