V27-877 : VFM AUDIT SERVICE AND FINANCIAL PLANNING

The report of the Director of Central Services set out the key findings and recommendations of a value for money study of the Council's service and financial planning, carried out by the external auditors.
This area of the Council's work was likely to change significantly as a result of the political and management restructuring and with the introduction of Best Value, and it was proposed that recommended further audit work be not carried out at this time.

RECOMMENDED

That further audit work on service and financial planning be not undertaken at this time, but that the findings of the value for money study be taken into account in introducing the new structures and the approach to Best Value.
