V27-859 : EMPLOYERS' ORGANISATION FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT - FUTURE STRATEGY

The report of the Director of Central Services reminded members that the newly formed Employers' Organisation (EO) was consulting local authorities on its role and objectives, and had issued a detailed discussion paper requesting responses from authorities by 31 August 1999.

The Regional Employers Organisation submitted a very detailed response to the paper, which the Chairman had endorsed and supported on the Councils' behalf. The EO was considering the responses in detail and would be working over the next six months with Regional Employers to draw up a comprehensive programme for its future work.

RESOLVED

The report of the Director of Central Services concerning the future strategy of the Employers Organisation for Local Government, be received.
