V27-852 : FEN VIEW, FLIXTON ROAD, BUNGAY

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined an application to the Traffic Commissioners for a Heavy Goods Vehicle Operating Centre at the above address. No planning permission had been granted, and such uses were not normally permitted in the open countryside. An objection had been lodged with the Licensing Authority, and a Public Inquiry would be held on 24 November 1999. The Highway Authority also objected, although their objections could be overcome by redesign of the site access.

It was not yet clear exactly what established use rights existed on the site, and this would be further investigated by the Chief Executive.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to issue an Enforcement Notice and to take all pursuant action in relation to the unauthorised business use at Fen View, Flixton Road, Bungay, subject to the Chief Executive being satisfied that the use is, in fact, unauthorised.
