V27-851 : 7 KIRKLEY PARK ROAD, LOWESTOFT - UNAUTHORISED BUSINESS USE

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned the operating of a home improvement business from the above property. Double glazing units were delivered to and stored at the property, and two vans were kept there. Despite requests, a planning application had not been received.

The Director felt the establishment of business uses in residential areas was not conducive to residential amenity, and considered the unauthorised use should cease. As the applicant employed two members of staff, he should be given three months to find alternative premises.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to undertake all necessary action to ensure cessation of the unauthorised double glazing business at 7 Kirkley Park Road, Lowestoft, giving three months to comply with an Enforcement Notice.
